Certain parts of Walvis Bay is still without electricity as at 14:00 since 09:53 today, 7 September 2024. According to Nampower, the power interruption is as a result of broken conductors on the Kuiseb - Walvisbay 1 and 2 132kV lines which feeds the town and surrounding areas. "Work is currently underway to replace the broken conductors on the two lines, while efforts are being made to temporarily feed parts of the town from the Anixas Power Station until power supply is fully restored to all the affected areas", the statement by NamPower read. The public is cautioned to treat all power lines and electrical points as "live" during power outages as no prior notification is given when power supply is restored.
